Malta Demands EU Solution Before Allowing Rescue Ships to Dock

Malta says it will not allow two migrant rescue ships to dock, until other European states take in some of the hundreds of migrants already in the island country's care.

Nearly 50 migrants are aboard those two ships…which have been stuck at sea since late December.

President Trump demands funds for border wall in primetime address

U.S. President Donald Trump has demanded funding for a border wall
describing it as a choice between right and wrong.

In a primetime address to the American people he didn't declare a
national emergency but once again blamed Democrats for the partial
shutdown of the U.S. government.

The President wants over $5 billion for the wall included in funding
package to reopen around a quarter of federal agencies.

But Democrats show little sign of backing down.

U.S. and China make strides in trade talks

President Trump has tweeted that trade talks between the U.S. and
China are going well.

This comes as a trade delegation from Washington is in China to
discuss the ongoing trade war.

The two nations have exchanged billions of dollars worth of tariffs on
one another but a temporary truce was announced in December.

Drone sighting stops flights at London Heathrow airport

Departures at London's Heathrow airport were temporarily stopped after police said a drone was sighted near the airport.

Flights resumed one hour later. A Heathrow spokesperson said it was a "precautionary measure". Last month, drone sightings near London's Gatwick Airport caused chaos - with hundreds of flights cancelled.

Police say they will deal with Brexit harassment of MPs in Westminster

London's Metropolitan police say they are continuing to investigate whether any crimes have been committed after a number of MPs and journalists were surrounded and shouted out by Brexit supporters in recent days.

It comes as the Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow called for greater police protection for MPs, amid impassioned protests from both pro and anti Brexit groups around Westminster.

Ministers Warn Against No Deal Brexit

US CO2 emissions rise by 3.4 percent

America's Carbon Dioxide emissions rose by 3.4 percent in 2018 - the biggest increase in eight years.

Authorities say German data breach suspect acted alone

REPORTS: UK CONSIDERS ARTICLE 50 DELAY

It's reported British officials have begun 'putting out feelers' with the EU for a possible extension to Article 50 to delay Brexit.

It comes as the government continues to try and persuade Members of Parliament to back the Brexit deal it's agreed with Brussels, ahead of a vote due next week.

Prime Minister Theresa May hopes to announce further assurances from the EU about a backstop solution to the Irish border issue, before the vote.

Donald Trump, Indian Prime Minister discuss trade and Afghanistan cooperation

North Korean state media confirmed Kim Jong-un left for Beijing on Monday afternoon.

Kim is traveling with his wife and top North Korean officials for the four-day trip.

The young leader met with President Xi three times last year before and after a summit with President Trump.

China is North Korea's key trading partner.

And Kim's visit may signal he's trying to highlight his alliance with Beijing ahead of a meeting with Trump.

Despite a cheerful meeting last June, the U.S. and North Korea seem to agree on little over how to rid the Korean Peninsula of nuclear weapons.
