French Prime Minister targets yellow vest protests

The French Prime Minister has announced plans to punish people who take part in unauthorised demonstrations.

Violent protests by the yellow vest movement have rocked France for the past eight weeks, damaging the economy. 

Now the government wants to ban known troublemakers from taking part.

German authorities have arrested a 20 year-old man in connection with a large data breach which targeted hundreds of politicians and other prominent people.

Irish PM Says UK Will Get More Assurances on Backstop

REPORTS: UK CONSIDERS ARTICLE 50 DELAY

It's reported British officials have begun 'putting out feelers' with the EU for a possible extension to Article 50 to delay Brexit.

It comes as the government continues to try and persuade Members of Parliament to back the Brexit deal it's agreed with Brussels, ahead of a vote due next week.

Prime Minister Theresa May hopes to announce further assurances from the EU about a backstop solution to the Irish border issue, before the vote.

The government insists it does not intend to seek an extension to Article 50 for more time for negotiations before the Brexit date of March 29th.

And preparations for a 'no deal' Brexit continue to be ramped up - but Ian Baxter of Baxter Freight says that would be a disaster for his industry.

Donald Trump, Indian Prime Minister discuss trade and Afghanistan cooperation

Days after mocking India for its limited role in Afghanistan, US President Donald Trump spoke to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the phone.

The two leaders reportedly discussed reducing America's trade deficit with India and increasing their cooperation in Afghanistan. President Trump has been seeking a more active role for India in Kabul that goes beyond reconstruction.

Japan mulling compromise on Russia peace treaty

North Korean state media confirmed Kim Jong-un left for Beijing on Monday afternoon.


Kim is traveling with his wife and top North Korean officials for the four-day trip.


The young leader met with President Xi three times last year before and after a summit with President Trump.


China is North Korea's key trading partner.


And Kim's visit may signal he's trying to highlight his alliance with Beijing ahead of a meeting with Trump.


Despite a cheerful meeting last June, the U.S. and North Korea seem to agree on little over how to rid the Korean Peninsula of nuclear weapons.

President to address the nation over border wall
