Former Trump aide resists Russia probe subpoena

It's unclear whether a former campaign aide to Donald Trump will cooperate with the Special Counsel's ongoing Russia probe.

During a number of erratic live media appearances, Sam Nunberg, who was fired by the Trump campaign in 2015, said he would resist a subpoena Robert Mueller to appear before a grand jury.

But as John Clarke reports from Washington, Nunberg might be having second thoughts...

WW2 vessel discovered by billionaire explorer 76 years after sinking

Gun measures advance in Florida after mass shooting

Lawmakers in Florida have passed a bill putting new age restrictions on gun sales, following last month's mass shooting at a school in the state.

May chairs top security meeting over Russian spy poisoning case


British Prime Minister Theresa May has chaired a meeting of the National Security Council to discuss the case of a former Russia spy who, along with his daughter, is critically ill in hospital after an apparent poisoning by an unknown substance.


Downing Street said senior ministers were updated on the investigation which is now being led by the UK's Counter Terrorism Police, due to their expertise.  The case, in the southern city of Salisbury, has not been deemed a terrorist incident. 


Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson told MPs in Parliament that the case had echoes to that of Alexander Litvinenko, a former Russian spy who was poisoned and died in London in 2006. 


Wiltshire's Acting Chief Constable Kier Pritchard said additional police officers would be patrolling Salisbury but insisted there is no apparent risk to the public.

South Korean envoy: North Korea willing to negotiate with US

North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-un, has told South Korean envoys that his country is willing to begin negotiations with the United States on abandoning its nuclear weapons

UK's Counter Terrorism Police take over spy poisoning case


Britain's Counter Terrorism Police has taken control of the investigation into the apparent poisoning of a former Russian spy and his daughter in the UK  city of Salisbury. 


Police say the incident has not been declared a terrorist incident at this time.  


It comes as Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has warned of a "robust response" if any Russian involvement emerges.

UK PROMISES 'ROBUST' RESPONSE IF RUSSIA INVOLVED IN SPY INCIDENT

The UK says it will respond 'robustly' if there is found to be Russian involvement in the exposure of a former spy to an unknown substance.

Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia are in hospital after coming into contact with the substance on Sunday and later being found unconscious.

Moscow says it has 'no information' on the incident.

Mr Skripal is a former Russian agent who was given refuge in the UK after a spy swap deal between Moscow and Washington.

Netanyahu claims Saudi Arabia approves overflight rights for Air India

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Saudi Arabia has allowed India's national carrier Air India to fly over its airspace for a new direct route from New Delhi to Tel Aviv. Air India though claims the approval hasn't come through.

During Netanyahu's India visit in January this year, he had stressed on the need for Israel and India to have direct air connectivity as urgently as possible.

Pentagon optimistic over Korea talks

South Korean diplomats are set to travel to Washington to brief the Trump administration on talks in Pyongyang.

Representatives from Seoul met earlier with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and other top officials, describing the talks as "not disappointing."
