REBELS KILL 10 IN DR CONGO

Intro

Several people are reported dead after Ugandan Islamist rebels attacked a town in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

DR Congo authorities say rebels believed to be from the Allied Democratic Forces killed 10 people on the outskirts of Beni a province near the border with Uganda.

Turkey and US suspend visa services to one another

Turkey and the United States have suspended most visa services to each other after an employee at the American consulate in Istanbul was arrested.

Turkish authorities held the man over alleged links to the cleric the Turkish government believes orchestrated last summer's failed coup attempt.

In a bid to curb pollution, no sale of firecrackers in Delhi this Diwali

India's top court has banned the sale of firecrackers in New Delhi until after the Hindu festival of Diwali is over.

Every year, millions of Indians light candles and burn firecrackers to mark Diwali. Last year, the day after Diwali, the pollution levels in Delhi sparked so sharply that schools and offices had to be shut and state of emergency declared.

Trump sends another signal he's shutting door on Iran deal

US President Donald Trump has given another indication that he intends to dismantle the 2015 deal on Iran's nuclear programme- he's expected to announce a policy shift next week.

President Trump says Tehran has not lived up to the spirit of the deal.
 
But some in the Trump Cabinet appear to disagree.

16 people killed in bus crash at railway crossing in Russia

Nobel Peace Prize Awarded to Anti-Nuclear Weapons Group

In Oslo, Norway the Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons—better known as I-can.
