Mideast peace is goal for Pres. Trump - Spicer

The White House says President Trump's goal is peace for the Middle East.

The Trump administration issued a statement, essentially reversing itself.

Earlier, President Trump indicated he would support Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as more Jewish settlements were built.

Now, the White House that might not be helpful for peace between the Israelis and Palestinians.

And spokesman Sean Spicer says peace is what the President wants.

White House unclear on Australian Prime Minister

Top Trump administration officials have reached out to Australia, including a meeting at the White House with the Australian ambassador, after tweets and phone calls by President Trump put the relationship at risk.

At issue is whether the U.S. will accept refugees that Australia is currently housing on Nauru.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer confirmed Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and Senior Advisor Steve Bannon had a meeting, but he's unclear on who Australia's Prime Minister is.

Impactful sanctions on Iran - Spicer

The Trump Administration believes the sanctions imposed on Iran for test-firing a missile will be impactful.

The White House admits that the sanctions package was actually already in the works during the Obama administration, but felt the timing was right now.

Spokesman Sean Spicer said nothing is off the table.

A new UN report on human rights violations in Myanmar details horrific attacks by security forces against the ethnic Rohingya men, women and children in northern Rakhine state.

Judge denies easing El Chapo jail restrictions

The lawyers for drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman say his New York

Colombian ELN rebels release key hostage

Colombia's second largest rebel army, the National Liberation Army known as ELN, has handed over a former member of Congress who they had kidnapped months ago.

The hostage release ensures peace talks between ELN and the Colombian government will be able to proceed next week.

US House votes to loosen background checks

The US House of Representatives has voted to scrap laws requiring some background checks for people purchasing guns.

The background checks - introduced under President Obama - are required for people with mental health issues.

Pres. Trump promotes economic agenda

U.S. President Donald Trump says he's pleased with the January report on employment in the U.S.

The U.S. Labor Department says 227,000 jobs were created and the unemployment rate remains at 4.8 percent.

None of this was the new president's doing, but he's happy with the results.

During a meeting with corporate executives, President Trump promised to completely change the Dodd-Frank Act which was designed to make sure there was not another financial sector meltdown as the U.S. saw in 2008.

US economy sees robust jobs grow

The US economy created an unexpectedly healthy 227,000 new jobs last month.

However, the latest labour market data, the first of Donald Trump
presidency, showed unemployment increased.

Russia reacts to US sanctions adjustment

The Kremlin has announced that the United States' adjustment of
sanctions is due to pragmatism.

Russia and Ukraine accuse each other of violence flare up
