Refugees, migration from Middle East next Trump target

Programs to bring refugees from war-torn Syria and immigration from the Middle East appear to be the next targets for U.S. President Donald Trump.

The American president is trying to carry out campaign promises by swiftly signing a series of executive orders.

Muslim-Americans worried about proposed Trump executive orders

Muslim-Americans feel they are being singled out by a series of proposed executive orders from U.S. President Donald Trump.

The American president signed 2 executive orders on building a border wall and also on bolstering immigration control resources, and he's expected to sign more limiting travel by Muslims to the U.S.

Nihad Awad, the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, says there's only one reason for this.

Trump to build wall, increase border security

U.S. President Donald Trump is vowing that today is the day America gets its borders back, and a wall will be built along the border with Mexico.

He signed a pair of executive orders aimed at changing immigration in the U.S.

US Defense Secretary targets Asia for first trip

The newly-confirmed US Secretary of Defense will visit Asia for his
first foreign trip.

The Pentagon announced James Mattis will travel to South Korea and
Japan next week.

Work to build a wall along America's southern border with Mexico could start within months, according to Donald Trump.

In doing so, the US president is advancing a key campaign pledge.

British warship escorts Russian counterpart through UK waters

A British warship and three fighter planes are escorting a Russian aircraft carrier through  British waters as they return to Russia from Syria. 

The Ministry of Defence said the aircraft carrier the Admiral Kuznetsov, a battle cruiser and a salvage tug would be escorted throughout their passage as Catherine Drew reports.

Trump could reopen black site CIA prisons

British MPs objection against sexist dress codes

It means the index has set an all time intra-day high, three trading days after the inauguration of Donald Trump, whose election sent Wall Street into a long rally.

Trade and security issues are top of the agenda as UK Prime Minister Theresa May travels to the US to meet lawmakers and President Trump.
Mrs May will be the first foreign leader to visit Donald Trump in Washington on Friday.

AU Foreign Minsters meeting in Ethiopia

Growing concerns about human rights abuses and wide scale protests across Africa will be the focus of a meeting of the Executive Council of the Africa Union.


The executive council is made up mainly of AU foreign ministers and is meeting in Ethiopia ahead of a summit of leaders from the bloc.

US Mexico wall construction complicated

U.S. President Donald Trump is set to sign an executive order directing the construction of a wall between the southern United States and Mexico.

President Trump has repeatedly promised he's going to find a way to get Mexico to pay for the wall, with Mexico's foreign minister expected in the American capital.

Trump launches voter fraud investigation and prepares immigration announcement

US President Donald Trump says he's launching an investigation into voter fraud in the United States, even though there his critics say there is no evidence to support his view that millions of people participate illegally in the country's elections.

UK PM promises Brexit White Paper


The British Government says it will publish a white paper document, detailing its 'bold' plans for Brexit.


Several MPs, including many in the Prime Minister's own party, asked for further details to be provided by way of a formal policy document, setting out proposals for future acts of Parliament.


The move comes after the UK's Supreme Court ruled the Brexit process could only be triggered by a vote in Parliament.


Prime Minister Theresa May told the House of Commons that she recognised there was an appetite for a White Paper.
