UK Prime Minister aware of missile misfire

The UK Prime Minister has been drawn into a scandal involving the country's nuclear programme, known as Trident.


A test missile launch reportedly misfired a week before Britain's House of Commons vote don renewing the Trident System.

Top Trump supporter calls for Madonna's arrest

A top Republican politician in the US is calling for Madonna to be arrested after she spoke of "blowing up the White House" during an opposition protest in Washington on Saturday.


Newt Gingrich, a prominent supporter of President Donald Trump, says the remark requires Secret Service investigation.

Merkel meets with French presidential candidate Fillon

French presidential candidate Francois Fillon [FEE YON] visited Berlin on Monday to meet German chancellor Angela Merkel and several members of her cabinet.

Both countries will hold federal elections this year, and the Franco-German relationship is considered the most important in the European Union.

Former French Prime Minister Valls beaten into second place in socialist primary

Left wing candidate BenoĆ®t Hamon has beaten former prime minister Manuel Valls to top the poll in the French socialist primary, in a surprise result.

Syria talks underway in Astana

Peace talks between the Syrian government and members of the country's
opposition are underway in Kazakhstan's capital Astana.

The conference brokered by Russia, Turkey and Iran marks the first
time Syria's warring factions have met since United Nations backed
talks broke down early last year.

will not meet face-to-face.

Actors shot during music video shoot in Brisbane, Australia

A young actor has been shot dead while filming a hip-hop music video in a Brisbane City underground bar.
Australian band Bliss n Eso were filming the video in the Brooklyn Standard in Eagle Lane on Monday afternoon when several firearms were discharged as part of the production.
Police say that as a result one of the actors was shot in the chest and died from his injuries.

A British woman held in Iranian jail loses her appeal against charges

A British woman who has been held in Iran since April accused of trying to topple the government in Tehran has had an appeal against her 5 year sentence dismissed.

Putin meeting with Trump may be months away

"El Chapo" pleads not guilty in US court on 17-count indictment

"El Chapo," the notorius Mexican drug lord behind one of the world's largest drug cartels, has pleaded not guilty in a New York federal court.


Joaquin Guzman faces 17 charges including drug trafficking, money laundering, murder and kidnapping across several US cities.
