UK Prime Minister meeting with China's Vice-Presdient


UK Prime Minister Theresa May has met with China's vice-president on the sidelines of the eighth UK-China Economic and Financial Dialogue.


The British Prime Minister and Chancellor Philip Hammond are keen to promote Britain being open for business, as it prepares to leave the European Union.

UK trader pleads guilty to "flash crash" involvement

A British trader has pleaded guilty for his part in triggering the Wall Street "flash crash" of 2010...

Navinder Sarao appeared in a Chicago courtroom, pleading guilty to fraud and illegally manipulating the market.

The 37-year-old will be allowed back to the UK pending sentencing in the US - as our correspondent Dan Whitehead reports...

Long awaited migrant reception centre opens in Paris

A long awaited reception centre for migrants has been opened in northern Paris - close to the site where almost 4000 people were camping on the street just a week ago.
But the centre has just 400 beds - while the French authorities are trying to house thousands of people following the demolition of the Calais camp.

TRAM CRASH DRIVER QUESTIONED

The driver of a tram that crashed in London on Wednesday killing seven people is being questioned on suspicion of manslaughter.

Over 50 people were injured when the tram came off the rails in Croydon in south London.

Investigators are looking into claims the vehicle was traveling to fast and that the driver had fallen asleep.

Russia Claims to Chase Away Dutch Sub

Russia's Defense Ministry claims it chased away a Dutch submarine that was close to its sole aircraft carrier that's currently on mission near the Syrian coast.

NATO has been watching the carrier and its supporting fleet—which is suspected of helping launch strikes in Syria.

Russia says it has detained Ukrainian saboteurs in Crimea

Ryan Praises Trump

The top Republican in the US Congress  Paul Ryan has called Donald Trump's victory "the most incredible political  feat I have seen in my lifetime". 

In the closing weeks of Trump's campaign Representative Ryan had virtually refused to mention the Republican candidate by name, in public appearances.
