Turkish deputy PM on visit in Moscow

ISIS releases possible video of Germany bomber

A video has appeared on the ISIS-affiliated Amaq news agency purporting to show the suicide bomber who injured fifteen people in the German town of Ansbach.

Senior Democrats spent day one of the party's convention urging supporters of Bernie Sanders' to get behind Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

Uproar on floor of Democratic Convention in Philadelphia

Uproar has broken out on the floor of the Democratic Convention in Philadelphia, where supporters of Bernie Sanders are booing every single mention of Hillary Clinton's name.

The convention got underway just 24 hours after leaked Democratic Party e-mails showed that party leaders had worked behind the scenes to engineer Senator Sanders' defeat in the primary elections earlier this year.

Democratic Convention begins in Philadelphia

The Democratic Party's convention is underway in Philadelphia, just hours after the FBI launched a probe into a hacking attack on the party's e-mail server.


It's renewed tensions between supporters of Hillary Clinton and Senator Bernie Sanders, after leaked e-mails showed that party leaders were conspiring to engineer Mrs. Clinton's victory in the party's primary elections.


As our US correspondent Simon Marks reports from the Convention arena, it's unclear whether Bernie Sanders' supporters will now get behind Mrs. Clinton's leadership of the party.

DKNY to relocate back to New York after sale by LVMH

No comment from White House on Democrats' woes

The White House is saying little on the political scandal developing as the Democratic Party convention gets underway in Philadelphia.

The party chair was forced to resign after embarassing emails were posted on Wikileaks, showing that Debbie Wasserman-Schultz favored Hillary Clinton's candidacy over Bernie Sanders.

Donna Brazile, a long-time party operative, has been named interim chair, and at the White House, Josh Earnest refused to comment further.

US screening helps protect against attacks - White House

The White House believes that the extensive screening of refugees helps prevent possible attacks such has been recently seen in Germany, to where tens of thousands of Syrian refugees have fled.

Two deportation orders were issued for the Syrian man who detonated a bomb at a music festival in Ansbach, Germany, where 15 were injured.

The U.S. has been criticized for accepting few refugees from the Middle East, but White House spokesman Josh Earnest says, the rigourous screening process is key.

Sanders welcomes resignation of top Democratic official as Convention begins

Senator Bernie Sanders has told his delegates to the Democratic Convention that the resignation of a top party official creates the possibility of "real change".

He was speaking shortly after the FBI launched a probe into the hacking attack on Democratic Party servers that revealed party leaders had worked to scupper Senator Sanders' Presidential bid.

But he says he is standing by his support of Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, and will work instead to change the Party's internal rules following the resignation of Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz as the head of the Democratic National Committee.

She did not name Donald Trump, but her speech to the military veterans is a contrast to the picture painted by the Republican nominee last week at the Republicans convention.

FBI investigating hack of Democrat Party email

The FBI is confirming that it is investigating the cyber attack on the Democratic National Committee.

The email hack was first reported by the Washington Post over a month ago.
