US Supreme Court Split Over Contraceptive Care

The US Supreme Court appeared to be headed toward a possible split
after Christian groups demanded full exemption on religious grounds
from a requirement under President Obama's healthcare law to provide
health insurance covering contraceptives. A 4-4 split would leave in
place lower court rulings that rejected the challenges presented by
the Christian groups, but would set no national legal precedent.

Official says released Guantanamo prisoners have killed Americans

On Wednesday a senior US defense official told a US congressional committee that prisoners who have been released from the Guantanomo Detention Center have killed Americans.  The disclosure prompted criticism from officials who are opposed to closing the prison.  US Reporter Arash Ghadishah has more.

At least a dozen Americans injured in Brussels blasts

The U.S. State Department is confirming, they are aware at least a dozen Americans were injured in the Brussels bombings, but so far, none have been reported dead.

However, US officials point out, this count may not be accurate because there are so many Americans living in or travelling through Brussles.

The U.S. State Department issued a sternly worded warning to Americans travelling to Europe about possible near-term terrorist attacks, but deputy spokesman Mark Toner says there is no specific information.

British Judge Approves Extradition of Trader Accused of "Flash Crash"

A British judge has approved a U.S. request for extradition of the London-based trader accused of helping to trigger the 2010 Wall Street "flash crash". 

US prosecutors say his actions contributed to market instability which led to the May 6th, 2010 crash.

On that day the Dow Jones Industrial Average briefly plunged more than a thousand points, temporarily wiping out nearly a trillion dollars in market value.

Israeli mobile company reportedly helping FBI investigate San Bernadino shooting

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation has reportedly enlisted the
help of Israeli mobile company Cellebrite, to unlock an iPhone used by
one of the San Bernadino California shooters in November.

That's according to reports from Israeli media — and could mean the
end of the Bureau's legal battle with Apple.

British Home Secretary Theresa May says there has been a significant strengthening of security in the UK.

Mrs May told the Commons the UK Government has been working on special measures in response to terror threats since 2010.

Raids ongoing in Brussels, as daily life resumes

Raids are ongoing in Brussels, as police continue to hunt for a suspect involved in the deadly airport and metro station bombings.

Two other men who perpetrated the attacks have been named as brothers Khalid and Brahim el-Bakraoui, who died detonating the blasts.

Over thirty people lost their lives in the explosions.

Laachraoui reportedly arrested in Brussels

Belgian media is reporting that a main suspect in the Brussels Airport attack has been arrested by police.


Two other attackers, pictured with the captured man on CCTV footage taken at the airport, have been named in media reports as brothers Khalid and Brahim el-Bakraoui.


34 people are thought to have lost their lives in attacks at an airport and metro station in Brussels.
