UK Home Secretary says security significantly strengthened

British Home Secretary Theresa May says there has been a significant strengthening of security in the UK.

Mrs May told the Commons the UK Government has been working on special measures in response to terror threats since 2010.

Following the attacks in Belgium precautionary steps were taken to keep people in the UK safe. But Mrs May says further long term measures are in place.

Raids ongoing in Brussels, as daily life resumes

Raids are ongoing in Brussels, as police continue to hunt for a suspect involved in the deadly airport and metro station bombings.

Two other men who perpetrated the attacks have been named as brothers Khalid and Brahim el-Bakraoui, who died detonating the blasts.

Over thirty people lost their lives in the explosions.

But, as our correspondent Olly Barratt says, life is slowly beginning to return to normal in Brussels.

A U.S. air strike has killed at least 50 militants in southern Yemen, according to local officials.

The targets were said to be queuing for food at an al Qaeda training camp when the attack took place.

David Cameron says more steps to be taken to increase UK security

Laachraoui reportedly arrested in Brussels

Belgian media is reporting that a main suspect in the Brussels Airport attack has been arrested by police.


Two other attackers, pictured with the captured man on CCTV footage taken at the airport, have been named in media reports as brothers Khalid and Brahim el-Bakraoui.


34 people are thought to have lost their lives in attacks at an airport and metro station in Brussels.

Suspected Brussels attacker reportedly caught,

Belgian authorities are believed to have captured a suspect who escaped from the Brussels attacks claimed by the Islamic State group.

Manhunt continues in Brussels following attacks

The manhunt is continuing for the suspect in the white jacket, seen on closed-circuit television at the Brussels airport just moments before their bombs went off.

At least 34 are dead in a pair of attacks - two bombs exploded at the airport and a third at a subway station near the European Union complex.
