France contradicts Cameron's border claims

France has contradicted the claims of British Prime Minister David Cameron that it would withdraw its border arrangements with the UK, if Britain were to vote to leave the European Union. 

On Monday David Cameron warned that Calais-style refugee camps would form in the UK if Britons vote to leave the EU in an upcoming public referendum.

Several dead in German train crash

Change in law leads to boom in driver’s licenses for undocumented immigrants in California

A law passed last year in California that allows undocumented immigrants to apply for driver's licenses has been met with high demand.  Hundreds of thousand of immigrants who entered the US illegally now have driver's licenses issued from the state. Arash Ghadishah reports from Los Angeles.

US aiming to ramp up zika eradication efforts

One goal for the White House is to use the requested $1.8 billion in funding to help eradicate the Zika virus in the U.S.

The expanding number of infections is now becoming a question for athletes who have trained their entire lives and hope to compete at the upcoming Olympic games in Rio de Janerio, Brazil.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the infectious disease center at the National Institutes of Health says for the majority, a zika virus infection is not a significant problem.

UN Human Rights Council reports on Syria's extermination of detainees

The United Nations Human Rights Council has released a four year
report on the Syrian government's policy of exterminating detainees.

The country's President Bashar Al-Assad's is now under scrutiny by
human rights officers for crimes against humanity.

US eyes deployment of anti-missile technology to Asia

The Obama administration is confirming it is talking with South Korea about deploying anti-missile technology.

Over the weekend, North Korea launched a ballistic missile which supposedly carried a satellite payload.

Canada to Stop Bombing ISIS Targets

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced Canada will stop bombing  ISIS targets in Iraq and Syria in the next two weeks.

New Hampshire Voters Prepare To Go To The Polls

Campaigning is entering its final phase in the US state of New Hampshire, where Democrat and Republican voters will be heading to the polls on Tuesday to decide who THEY think would be their party's best fit for the White House.

Dissident Republicans Claim Dublin Murder

The Continuity IRA, a dissident republican group,  has allegedly claimed responsibility for a shooting in Dublin last week, in which one man was killed.


The attack took place during a weigh-in for a boxing match, with police saying at least six people were involved.

At least 35 refugees drown off Turkey


At least 35 people have died after two boats carrying refugees sank off the coast of Turkey.
The deaths come as German chancellor Angela Merkel meets Turkish prime minister Ahmet Davutoglu in for talks on tackling the refugee crisis.

UK Police considering eagles to take down drones

Police in Britain are considering using trained birds of prey to target and take down drones out of the sky.


The pilot-less aircrafts are used to gather footage from hard-to-reach areas, however there are concerns that they are becoming more widely used for criminal activities.

Cameron will warn of refugee camps in the UK if Britain leaves the EU

British Prime Minister David Cameron is reported to be planning to put national security at the centre of his campaign for Britain to stay within the European Union.

Downing Street sources say the British leader will warn that refugee camps like those in Calais in Northern France will spring up across England if the UK leaves the EU, as France will no longer allow it to conduct border controls on its territory.  From London, Catherine Drew reports.
