Russia says Turkey knows how to fix broken ties

Russian Foreign Ministry says Turkey knows exactly what to do in order to fix relations between the two countries that have suffered a huge blow after Turkey downed Russian military jet in November last year. The Kremlin's rhetoric remains harshly anti-Turkish with some members of the local parliament proposing to denounce a friendship act dating back to early 20th century. Brazilian researches find zika in saliva and urine

Obama Confirms Oil Tax Proposal

President Barack Obama has confirmed that he will propose a new tax on oil, designed to support a transition to cleaner fuels. 

He's expected to suggest imposing a $10 fee on every barrel, to be paid by oil companies.

Such a proposal is considered politically unfeasible in the current Republican-controlled Congress.

President Obama says the money would be used to improve transportation, research and development.

Several thousand Syrian refugees arrive at Turkish border

ASSANGE ADDRESSES SUPPORTERS

Julian Assange has taken to the balcony of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London to again call for the ability to leave it without arrest.

This after the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention ruled he should be released.

However, Sweden and Britain both deny Mr Assange is being detained and insist he will still be arrested and extradited to face sexual assault charges if he leaves the embassy.

The Wikileaks founder has been taking refuge in the building since 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden.

Mr Assange told his supporters and some hecklers that Sweden and the UK should now go along with the UN panel ruling.
