The World Bank says Uganda was warned about the multiple failures of the Transport Sector Development Project.

And that concerns over the mismanagement of the road project and sexual abuse of under age girls by employees of the government contractor were ignored.

The 220km road project is an upgrade from a dirt road to a paved one linking communities in the rural Western part of the country.

In a written response Uganda's Roads Authorities say government is working towards ensuring that road works continue as issues that led to the cancelation of the project are addressed.

The World Bank is one of Uganda's major sources of funding for projects in transport, education and health among others.

FAMILY BARRED FROM U.S. 'FOR BEING MUSLIM'

Their local MP has raised concerns about the growing numbers of British muslims being stopped from entering the US, with no apparent reason.
