Paris mastermind is dead

The suspected mastermind of the deadly Paris attacks died during Wednesday's raid in Saint Denis, according to French prosecutors.

Belgian national Abdehamid Abaaoud, aged 28, was identified by his fingerprints.

UK Police arrest Libyan man in connection with 1984 shooting

Police in Britain have arrested a Libyan man in connection with the murder of a police woman in 1984.

Raids in connection to Paris attacks continue in Brussels

Russia suspended by World Anti-Doping Agency

FRENCH EXPERTS WORK TO IDENTIFY SUSPECTS KILLED IN PARIS RAID

Officials in France are still trying to establish whether Abdelhamid Abaaoud was killed in Wednesday's raid on an apartment in Paris.

He's alleged to be the mastermind of Friday's Paris attacks which killed 129 people.

Prosecutors say at least two bodies need to be identified after the raid in the Saint Denis region of Paris.

French MPs are expected to vote on extending a state of emergency following the attacks, which have been claimed by the Islamic State.

Another 118 Years to Close Pay Gap Between Men and Womn


The World Economic Forum believes it will take another 118 years to close the global pay gap between men and women.
Data from the Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report says women are only now earning the amount that men did in 2006 — a global average of  over 11 thousand dollars ( £7,300; €10,400) for women compared with more than 20 thousand dollars (£13,500; €19,200) for men.

US official say Chinese hacking continues

Americans deeply divided on Syrian refugees

A slim majority of Americans oppose the White House plan to bring at least 10,000 Syrian refugees to the U.S., according to a new poll by Bloomberg.

U.S. President Barack Obama has pushed back on the criticism of the plan, by saying politicians appear to be scared of widows and tiny children.

Iran cuts a quarter of its centrifuges in under a month - news reports

Iran has reportedly cut back a quarter of its uranium-enriching centrifuges -- in under a month -- to meet terms of a nuclear deal.


Iran and six world powers adopted the agreement on October 18 to lift sanctions in exchange for restrictions on Tehran's nuclear program.


But questions remain about the significance of the reduction so far.

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, the man second in line to the Presidency, weighed in on the debate swirling around the admittance of refugees from Syria.

US says momentum must be maintained by all sides to achieve Syria ceasefire withing weeks

The US State department says all sides must maintain a sense of urgency in order to ensure that a ceasefire in Syria can happen soon.

Speaking in Paris on Tuesday Secretary of State John Kerry has said that a break in the fighting could be just weeks away.

It would allow nations supporting Syria's various factions to concentrate more on combating the Islamic State.

HACKER GROUP CLAIMS IT’S TAKEN DOWN ISIS TWITTER ACCOUNTS

The activist hacker collective Anonymous says it has taken down thousands of Twitter accounts linked to the Islamic State group.

Syrian refugees must resettle in other States after governors' ban

A family of Syrian refugees bound for a new home in the US state of
Indiana, has been redirected to Connecticut.
The Governor of Indiana took the decision, joining almost 30 governors
