Croatian elections set to be dominated by EU refugee and migrant crisis

Voters in Croatia are heading to the polls with the refugee and migrant crisis appearing the defining issue on their minds.

The country is on the western balkan route for asylum seekers making their way into the European Union and has seen 320 thousand people pass through this year.

African and European leaders will meet in Valletta in Malta this week for a major summit on migration...

It comes after the latest figures show around 218-thousand migrants arrived in Europe via the Mediterranean Sea in October - more than in the whole of 2014.

Obama and Netanyahu to meet

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with US President Barack Obama in Washington Monday.

The visit comes during a time of strained relations between the two nations; just this past week Mr. Netanyahu nominated a new media chief who'd publicly insulted the US President and Secretary of State.

UN Watchdog Says Mustard Gas Used in Syria Attack

Chemical weapons experts have concluded that mustard gas was used in
an attack on a town in northern Syria in August. The Organization for
the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons reports the chemical agent was
released in Marea, with diplomatic sources claiming it was used in
clashes between ISIS and a local rebel group.

New York Attorney General Investigating Exxon Mobil for hiding climate change risks

Obama Threatens Withdrawal of S. Africa's AGOA Benefits on Ag Products

Russia suspended all flights to Egypt

Russia is suspending all flights to Egypt with the country's President Vladimir Putin saying it would be "expedient" to suspend air travel until the conclusion of the investigation into what brought down the Russian jetliner over Egypt last Saturday.

American and British intelligence suggest a bomb may have downed the plane killing all 224 passengers on board.

Dozen missing after mine bursts in Brazil

Brazilian authorities say that one person was killed, four injured and 13 are missing after a damn from an iron ore mine burst. 

The incident occurred in the southeastern mountainous area of Minas Gerais. Nearby towns have also been flooded and affected by mudslides.

US unemployment falls to seven year-low

The unemployment rate in the United States has fallen to 5%- the
lowest its been in seven years.

Obama gives South Africa 60 day notice for suspension of AGOA trade benefits

US President Barack Obama has issued a 60-day notice to Congress and the South African government of his intent to suspend certain trade benefits for South Africa under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).

It comes after South Africa failed to eliminate long-standing barriers to U.S. poultry, pork, and beef imports - specifically, failing to meet a key deadline on October 15th to resume imports of U.S. poultry.

Obama: Bomb Theory over Downed Russian Yet a "Possibility"
