Church of Scientology goes on trial in Belgium

Belgium's branch of the Church of Scientology is in court for charges of fraud, extortion and running a criminal organization. 

If found guilty, the church faces a ban in Belgium.

US Plans to Warship Sailing Close to Chinese Artificial Islands

The US Navy is planning to send a destroyer ship to some artificial islands built by China.

The USS Lassen will sail within 12 nautical miles of a reclaimed area of the South China Sea, a direct challenge to China's territorial cliams. 

The islands have been built on in the archipelago known as the Spratleys.

US State Department Spokesman John Kirby wouldn't comment on the plan, but maintained the US position on freedom of navigation.

Russia carries out more strikes in Syria as Lavrov and Kerry discuss political settlement

5 Britons confirmed dead after Canadian boat incident

Britain's foreign office has confirmed that five UK citizens were killed after a whale-watching boat sank off the west Canadian coast.


21 out of the 27 people on board were rescued, one person was still missing.

EU and Western Balkan leaders agree to deeper cooperation on refugee and migrant crisis

The leaders of the countries affected on the refugee and migrant route through the Western Balkans have agreed create an additional 100 thousand places in refugee centers to tackle the crisis.
