DNA TECHNIQUE REMOVES HEREDITARY DISEASE

A pioneering IVF technique using the DNA of three people has led to the births of eight healthy babies in the UK.

The method's aimed at preventing hereditary mitochondrial disease, which can be fatal.

Four boys and four girls have been born through the technique pioneered by UK scientists.

Professor Sir Doug Turnbull is from the team at Newcastle University who developed it.

No issue found with Boeing fuel switches on Air India planes

Reports claim Air India has found no issues with the locking mechanism of fuel control switch on Boeing 787 planes.

UK INFLATION JUMPS IN JUNE

UK inflation has hit its highest rate since January 2024, according to new data.

The headline rate reached 3.6% in the year to June, up from 3.4% in May, and higher than expectations.
