Trump pleads not guilty in Georgia election case

Former US President Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty to charges which allege that he tried to overturn the 2020 election result in the state of Georgia. 


Mr Trump is among 19 people charged in the case, one of four criminal cases facing him as he vies for the Oval Office again.

Idalia makes landfall in Florida

Hurricane Idalia has made landfall in the US state of Florida bringing
with it flooding and winds of 125 miles an hour.

The storm strengthened to a Category 3 hurricane before making
landfall on Wednesday morning.

Officials are warning about life-threatening storm surges of 16 feet
as seawater is pushed inland from coastal areas.

More than 250,000 people are already without power and almost 1000
