Xi Jinping Warns US to be Clear-Eyed About Taiwan

Chinese leader Xi Jinping has warned the US to be clear-eyed about Taiwan,

and said that China remains staunchly committed to resisting interference by external forces.

Tensions over the self-ruled island were front and centre as Xi spoke with US President Joe Biden in a closely watched call.

US stocks surge despite recession signal

Biden holds call with Xi amid US-China tensions

President Joe Biden has held his fifth call with Chinese counterpart Xi Jingping, their first in four months, and one that comes at a time of increasing friction between the United States and China.


The leaders of the two superpowers spoke for more than two hours, during which the US President "underscored" its opposition to efforts to "undermine peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait."

Baltics call on US to step up troop presence

US makes "substantial offer" to Russian over prisoner swap

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has revealed that the United States has proposed a prisoner swap with Russia in an effort to secure the release of two American detained in Moscow.
