96-year old woman stands trial for role at Nazi concentration camp

A historic trial gets underway today in Germany, with a 96 year old woman accused of working at a Nazi concentration camp during World War 2. 

She's the first woman to stand trial for such crimes in decades, and is one of the oldest individuals to ever face prosecution for their role in the Third Reich.

Australia – Infections soar after Grand Final weekend.

The Australian state of Victoria has recorded 1438 new covid infections and five deaths in the last 24 hrs, more than double the numbers reported yesterday.

The record spike is being put down to Australian football fans who gathered against covid mandate regulations, to watch the games grand final over the long weekend.

Britain's army is ready to begin making fuel deliveries by the end of the week if necessary.

The government, however, says the petrol crisis is 'stabilising' and 'improving'.

Panic-buying of petrol was sparked by reports a shortage of tanker drivers had meant the closure of a handful of forecourts.

Turkey's President Erdogan to talk missiles, Syria, Azerbaijan with Russia's President Putin

Australia – Covid disaster payment to be axed as vaccination rates reach 80%

Australian welfare groups are worried more people will be driven into poverty when Covid Disaster Payments come to an end.

Two teenagers in Hong Kong group facing National Security charges
