Harvey Weinstein appeals for new trial

The former movie mogul Harvey Weinstein has requested a fresh trial in
a bid to overturn a rape and sexual assault conviction.

Weinstein was sentenced last year to 23 years in prison but argues
that the judge made several errors during his trial.

EMA OFFICIAL SAYS THERE IS A LINK BETWEEN AZ AND CLOTTING

A top European Medicines Agency official says there IS a link between the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine and a rare type of blood clot.

In an interview with Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, the EMA's head of vaccines, Marco Cavaleri, said "it is clear there's a link with the vaccine" but they still don't know the mechanism that causes the clotting.

More than 1,800 inmates escape from Nigeria's prison facility


The government has confirmed that over 1,800 people escaped after a prison break in southeast Nigeria. Unknown gunmen launched a series of attacks on a correctional facility in Imo state, freeing the suspects and destroying properties there.
