UK SUPREME COURT TO HEAR PARLIAMENT SUSPENSION CASE

The legal row over Boris Johnson's decision to suspend Parliament reaches the UK's highest court on Tuesday.

The Supreme Court will hear arguments over three days about whether the prorogation of Parliament was unlawful.

The Prime Minister advised the Queen to suspend Parliament for five weeks - but many lawmakers feel it reduces scrutiny of his Brexit plans.

A Scottish court ruled last week the prorogation was unlawful - but the Supreme Court will make a final decision which the government insists it will respect.

Barrister Mohsin Zaidi says that may not come immediately.
