US military wants continued access to Russian space rockets

The U.S. military is asking the U.S. Congress to allow them to continue using Russian rockets to launch national security satellites into space.

History and a lack of options have meant that the United Launch Alliance - the company which has the contract to send satellites up - has a contract to only buy Russian rocket engines.

American lawmakers want to see an end to the Russian rocket contract, as our Washington correspondent Priscilla Huff reports:
