immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

The United Nations agency warns that the few hospitals still operating
in the Palestinian enclave are struggling to cope.

Gunmen Kill Over 100 People in Nigeria

Over 100 people have been killed by gunmen in Nigeria's north central state of Plateau.
The armed men who are locally called bandits attacked about 20 communities in the state over the weekend, and on Christmas day.

Suspected human trafficking victims return to India

A plane carrying hundreds of Indian nationals that was grounded for days at an airport in France over human trafficking fears arrived in India on Tuesday.

The chartered flight left with 276 passengers. 25 people including two minors remained in France after applying for asylum. Two suspected traffickers also remained in France for further investigation.

Trump's legal team as DC appeals court to dismiss election subversion charges

Donald Trump's lawyers have asked a Washington DC appeals court to dismiss federal charges accusing him of trying to subvert the results of the 2020 US election.

They contend that the former president is protected from prosecution because he was holding office at the time.

US Supreme Court walks away from deciding on Trump immunity

The US Supreme Court has rejected a request to decide whether Donald Trump is immune from prosecution for crimes he's accused of committing in office. 


Special Counsel Jack Smith — investigating the former President's alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election and his mishandling of classified documents — had asked justices in America's highest court to rule on the matter, but on Friday they declined, without giving any reason.

US GDP grows but voters remains dissatisfied at economy

The US economy grew 4.9% last quarter, new figures show — that's lower than recent estimates, but still the fastest pace of expansion since the fourth quarter of 2021.
