Saudi in talks with China's so-called "BRICS Bank" in major move to deepen ties

Saudi Arabia is in talks with a major China-based bank, the New Development Bank, which represents the world’s largest developing nations.

The move signals a further deepening of ties between the world’s largest crude oil exporter and China.


It will also allow the bank to shore up funding while Russia (one of its members) struggles under the strain of sanctions.

U.S. debt deal written but has to pass through House & Senate to avoid default


U.S. President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy have agreed in principle to a debt deal that would help the country avoid a default on June 5th.

Treasury: US will default on June 5th if no deal reached

The US Treasury has warned the US will run out of money on June 5th if
a deal is not agreed to raise the debt ceiling.

Democrats and Republicans have been negotiating for several weeks to
try and increase the country's borrowing limit to avert an
unprecedented default.

FBI files reveal Queen Elizabeth assassination threat

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II faced a potential assassination threat in the 1980s, according to documents released by the FBI.

Dr fined for speaking about 10 year old rape victims abortion

An Indiana doctor has been reprimanded and ordered to pay a fine of
some three thousand dollars for violating a young patient's privacy.
Dr. Caitlin Bernard performed an abortion to a 10-year-old rape victim

Biden says progress being made in debt ceiling talks

US President Joe Biden says he believes a deal will be reached to raise the country's debt ceiling saying the two sides have made progress  - but negotiations continue.


Republicans want to roll back government spending but President Biden and Democrats do not.


The credit rating agency Fitch has put the US on rating watch negative, reflecting the uncertainty around the possibility of a first-ever default.


President Biden reiterated that the only way to move forward is to find a bipartisan agreement.

Oath Keeper leader sentenced to 18 years over Capitol riot
