IEA blames Russia for causing "global energy crisis"

The International Energy Agency says Russia "sparked a global energy crisis", after invading Ukraine in February.

The IEA released its World Energy Outlook on Thursday / October 27, saying that the current energy crisis was "a shock of unprecedented breadth and complexity".

U.S. mortgage rates climb to 20-year high

Mortgage rates in the U.S. have jumped above 7 percent for the first time in 20 years.

The rapid rise in rates - which just a year ago were sitting at just over 3 percent - has ground the once-hot housing market to a near-standstill.

European Central Bank announces fresh 75BP interest rate hike

US GDP rises for first time this year

The US economy has rebounded to produce 2.6% growth in the third quarter, the country's first quarterly GDP increase this (financial) year.
