Netanyahu slams US on Israel-Palestinian conflict

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has slammed the US for a "biased" approach to the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.

Reacting to a speech made just hours ago by US Secretary of State John Kerry, the Israeli Prime Minister said Mr Kerry failed to recognize the what he says is the true root of the Israel-Palestinian conflict - Palestinian opposition to the existance of a Jewish state.

Mr Netanyahu's comments came as tensions are on the rise between Israel and the US, following the passing of a United Nations resulution that demands Israel stop the construction of settlements on land that is claimed by the Palestinians.

He said Mr Kerry doesn't understand the challenges at hand.
