Five arrested for aiding in California jail escape

Five people have been arrested on suspicion of aiding the escape of three inmates from a maximum security jail in Southern California last week.  Arash Ghadishah reports from Los Angeles.

Over 30 Zika Virus cases confirmed in United States

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the United States has 31 confirmed cases of the Zika virus in 11 states and in Washington DC.

The statistics come as the World Health Organization announced it will convene an emergency meeting to try to find ways to stop the transmission of the virus.

5 maintain Oregon standoff

Five protestors remain at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon, after seven others were arrested, including the Bundy brothers of Nevada.

Since November, a group has insisted that the refuge must be returned to the local people, even though the people of Harney County say they want no part in the dispute.

The British Government has said it will take in more unaccompanied child refugees, who are fleeing countries such as war-torn Syria.

Former Ivorian president Laurent Gbagbo denies charges of crimes against humanity at the ICC

Facebook more than doubled its profits in the fourth quarter of 2015.

Mobile advertising was a particularly lucrative growth area for the social media site during that period.

UK TO ACCEPT 'MORE' CHILD REFUGEES

The UK says it will take in extra unaccompanied child refugees from Syria and other warzones.

Campaigners have been calling for Britain to accept at least 3000 children who have reached Europe.

The UK will ask the UN High Commissioner for Refugees to help it identify cases in which children should come to Britain from camps in and around Syria.

It is also committing around $15m in funding to help child refugees in Europe.

Facebook Smashes Wall Street Earnings and Revenue Estimates

Facebook has easily topped Wall Street's estimates for its revenue and earnings in the fourth quarter of 2015.
