Pakistan is witnessing sharp increase in petroleum prices amid Middle East tensions

Intro:

Rising global oil prices amid the Middle East tensions are driving up fuel costs in Pakistan, adding to inflationary pressures in an economy reliant on a $7 billion loan program from IMF.

The South Asian nation is left with 30 days stock of petrol and 27 days of high-speed diesel.

The country remains heavily dependent on Gulf oil imports via the Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping route under increasing strain

Putin lashes out at NATO during Red Square military parade

No tanks rolling through the Red Square this year during the Victory Day parade commemorating the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in WWII. The traditional display of Moscow's military might and advanced weapons was downscaled - for the first time in nearly two decades - amid threats of possible strikes by Ukraine.
The Kremlin said it had discussed security concerns with Washington and agreed to the 3-day ceasefire proposed by US President Donald Trump. It earlier warned of massive retaliatory strikes on Kiev - if it dares to 'disrupt' the Victory Day anniversary celebrations.
Yet, despite engaging in direct discussions with the White House the day before, speaking at the ceremony on Red Square on Saturday President Putin claimed that in Ukraine Russia is fighting against a force directly sponsored by NATO.
