Iranian Stand Off Continues

Leaders from 30 nations are meeting in London today to continue discussions about keeping the Strait of Hormuz open once the US war with Iran ends.

It comes as Donald Trump extended the ceasefire - just hours before it was due to end.


It's to allow for more peace talks that were due to take place in Pakistan, but the US is continuing to block Iranian ports until that happens.

Lufthansa cuts 20,000 flights amid jet fuel shortage fears

Lufthansa has announced it’s cutting 20,000 short-haul flights as Europe faces the prospect of a jet fuel shortage.


European Union officials say there are no signs of imminent shortages but the International Energy Agency says stockpiles could begin to runout next month.

STARMER FACING CONTINUED CALLS TO RESIGN

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer faces continued calls to resign over the appointment of Peter Mandelson as ambassador to the US.

​Trump extends ceasefire - citing "fractured” Iranian government


President Donald Trump has extended a ceasefire with Iran but says the US naval blockade will continue until discussions are concluded. In a social media post, Trump cited a “seriously fractured” government in Iran- saying the US will wait for a “unified proposal.” The two-week ceasefire was set to expire on Wednesday and President Trump had said the US was ready to resume its bombing campaign if a deal wasn’t reached. Importers start to claim tariff refunds from the Trump Administration
