Attacks on energy infrastructure in Middle East deepen crisis as Trump says it's temporary

The White House is trying to reassure Americans as oil prices jumped to $118 a barrel on Thursday, nearly three weeks into the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran. President Trump said that he would do whatever was necessary to ease the crisis but that it was temporary. The challenge is no longer just reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a choke point for one-fifth of the world's oil supply but now the attacks and counterattacks on oil and gas production across the region have injected new uncertainty.
