STARMER HOSTS ZELENSKY AND EUROPEAN LEADERS IN LONDON

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is hosting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in London (on Monday) for talks on peace proposals.

The French and German leaders are joining the discussions about a US-backed peace plan.

It comes after US President Donald Trump claimed President Zelensky hadn't yet read the proposals.

Peter Dickinson from the Atlantic Council says Vladimir Putin is unlikely to sign up to a deal without major concessions from Kyiv.

India's IndiGo cancels more flights, leaving more passengers stranded

India's largest domestic airline IndiGo cancelled more flights on Monday, after thousands of flights were cancelled last week, leaving passengers stranded.

The country's aviation watchdog has warned the airline of regulatory action. IndiGo says that operations should stabilise by mid-week.

On Friday, a judge in France will rule whether to suspend the Chinese e-commerce giant Shein (PRON: Shee-inn)

BBC WELCOMES ISRAEL EUROVISION DECISION

The BBC has welcomed the decision to include Israel in next year's Eurovision Song Contest.

Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands and Slovenia will now boycott the event over the war in Gaza and claims of unfair voting practices.

India's central bank cuts interest rates

India's central bank cut its key interest rate by 25 basis points to 5.25 per cent on Friday.

Leaders of DRC & Rwanda sign peace deal in Washington

UK Health Minister Orders Review Into Increasing Mental Health Diagnoses

The UK's Government's Health Secretary has ordered a review into the increasing number of mental health diagnoses like ADHD and Autism. 


Wes Streeting has said he's concerned by the rise in the number of people out of work or on sickness benefits with mental health conditions, which has risen by 1.2 million since 2019.


Dr Simon Williams, lecturer in Psychology and Public Health at Swansea University, says a large part of this increase is due to better understanding and diagnosis of mental health conditions.
