British Forces Deployed to Track Russian Spy Ship
The UK's Defence Secretary has announced that British forces have been deployed to track a Russian spy ship on the edge of UK waters.
John Healey said a Royal Navy Frigate and RAF planes are monitoring and tracking the vessels movements in the sea to the North of Scotland.
He added that the Russian ship, 'Yantar', is designed to gather intelligence and map undersea cables and that its crew had used lasers to disrupt RAF pilots tracking it.
Healey called this "deeply dangerous" and warned Russian President Vladimir Putin that the UK military was ready to respond to any threats posed by the vessel.
