India's aviation minister slams Western media for reports on Air India crash

India's aviation minister has criticised Western media for what he describes as "vested" coverage of the deadly crash of a London-bound Air India flight last month.

This follows an article by The Wall Street Journal last week which claimed that the investigation was focusing on the actions of the plane's captain.

Three Los Angeles deputies killed in explosion at training facility

At least three sheriff's deputies were killed and another person injured in an explosion Friday morning at a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department facility. 

The blast occurred as deputies were reportedly handling explosive materials recovered during a recent bomb call.

India rejects WSJ report that claims pilot turned off fuel switches

India's Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau has criticised a Wall Street Journal report that seemed to suggest that the captain of an Air India flight that crashed last month may have turned off the plane's fuel control switches.

A preliminary report released last week found that seconds after take off the plane's fuel control switches went from 'run' to 'cut off', stalling the plane's ascent.

All but one passenger onboard that London-bound Air India flight died in the crash, one of the worst aviation disasters globally in recent history.
