UK Suspends Israel Trade Talks and Summons Ambassador Over Gaza

The UK Government has suspended negotiations with Israel for a new free trade agreement over what British Foreign Secretary David Lammy called the "indefensible and cruel" blockade of aid into Gaza and Israel's expanded military operations. 

Speaking to Parliament on Tuesday Lammy said that the conflict had entered a "dark new phase" with the humanitarian catastrophe intensifies in Gaza. 


The announcement follows a joint statement by the leaders of the UK, France and Canada condemning the Israeli government's actions in Gaza which was met with anger by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.


David Lammy also announced that the Israeli ambassador in London was being summoned to convey the demand to end the renewed Israeli military actions and the end to the blockade of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

First US 'self-deport' flight takes 64 people to Central America

The first flight carrying migrants who have chosen to self-deport has left the US for Central America. 


The Department of Homeland Security has offered $1,000 and a free flight for anyone wanting to leave.

India-US restart trade negotiations as Indian trade minister visits Washington
