India-Pakistan expel one diplomat each as tensions simmer

Exactly one week ago, India carried out air strikes inside Pakistan - which sparked an armed conflict between the nuclear-armed neighbours.

Inflation softer than expected amid Trump tariffs

Asian markets cheer amid pause in US-China trade war

First group of white South African “refugees” lands in US

China hails 'substantial progress' in trade talks with US

INTRO: China hailed on Monday "substantial progress" with the United States after talks in Geneva on dialling down their trade war yielded dramatic cuts to import tariffs.

The world's two biggest economies agreed to suspend their respective tariffs for 90 days while they negotiate. The US tariffs on Chinese imports will now be cut to 30 per cent , while Chinese tariffs on US imports will be cut to 10 per cent. Laura Westbrok reports from Hong Kong.

The US and China have reached agreement to lower tariffs temporarily after concluding that they "neither side" favored the trade war underway between the two countries.
