Trump administration instructs US civil servants instructed to rat on colleagues over DEI

On Donald Trump's second full day in office, federal government workers in the United States were instructed to inform the authorities about any colleagues who may be continuing to try and implement diversity, equity and inclusivity policies.


The President has ordered all employees in the government who were hired as a result of diversity programmes to take paid leave from their jobs.


Meanwhile, a TV weather forecaster in Milwaukee has been fired for criticizing Elon Musk.

New wildfire shuts down major highway north of Los Angeles

A new fast-moving wildfire has broken out north of Los Angeles, forcing thousands to evacuate their homes and closing a major highway.

Musk spars with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman over Trump-backed AI Project

Elon Musk is sparring with rival tech billionaires from Open AI and its biggest backer Microsoft, over a new 500 billion dollar artificial intelligence initiative backed by the Trump administration.

Houthi rebels release crew members held captive for more than a year

After more than a year, Houthi rebels have released the crew of a
Bahamas-flagged vessel taken hostage off the Yemeni Red Sea coast.
According to reports the crew were handed over in response to the
ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
Houthis have carried out several attacks on ships in the Red Sea since
2023 claiming solidarity with the people of Palestine.

Refugees no longer able to travel to US

Refugees scheduled to move to the United States have had their travel plans cancelled.


Donald Trump signed an executive order suspending refugee admissions shortly after returning to the White House this week.

European Commission sees "uncertainty" over U.S. commitment to supporting Ukraine


The European Commission says there is "uncertainty" over what stance U.S. President Donald Trump will take in relation to support for Ukraine.

Donald Trump unveils AI investment in USA

US President Donald Trump has announced billions of dollars in private sector investment to construct artificial intelligence infrastructure in the United States.


On his first full day in office, he unveiled a joint venture called Stargate — which he's calling the "largest AI infrastructure project in history."
