UN confirms attack on another school in Gaza

The United Nations has confirmed that another UN school was hit by an
Israeli airstrike.
The attack has left 13 people dead and 48 people injured.

Netanyahu has "warm" phone call with Trump

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President-elect Donald Trump had a "very warm" phone call according to the Israeli leader.


He said they spoke about the need to complete Israel's victory, and bring home the hostages being held in Gaza - something Trump has said must happen before his inauguration.

LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE SEES BIGGEST EXODUS IN 15 YEARS

Italy's national debt hits record high


Italy's national debt has risen to a record high, just short of 3 trillion Euros.

The newly-released data from the Bank of Italy comes as Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni tries to get her 2025 budget approved by parliament before the end of the year.

UK FOREIGN OFFICE IN CONTACT WITH SYRIAN REBELS

The UK government has made diplomatic contact with Syrian rebel group, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, Foreign Secretary David Lammy has said.

The West African bloc, ECOWAS has asked Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger to take the next six months to reconsider their decision to withdraw from the group.


Leaders of the bloc gave this grace period at the 66th ECOWAS Summit in Abuja on Sunday.


The three countries announced plans to exit the group in January this year following what they say were harsh sanctions in the wake of the coup in Niger in July 2023.

Hundreds feared dead after cyclone hits French island
