In Ghana, early polling results show that former president John Mahama will have another shot at the presidency.

His main contender, the ruling party's candidate, Vice president Mahamudu Bawumia has conceded defeat even before the electoral commission announces the final results of the polls.

Third day of New York shooting manhunt underway

Police in the US are still looking for the suspect accused of shooting Brian Thompson, the CEO of one of the country's largest health insurance companies.

Thompson, who led UnitedHealthcare, died on Wednesday outside a Manhattan hotel.

A manhunt is underway to find the gunman, with the New York Police Department investigating whether the suspect may have left the city after the shooting.
