Hong Kong court sentences 45 activists

A Hong Kong court on Tuesday sentenced 45 former politicians and activists in a mass trial that has decimated the city’s once vibrant pro-democracy opposition. 


Three judges sentenced 45 pro-democracy activists to jail terms of up to 10 years in the largest national security trial.

Delhi and neighbouring areas enveloped by toxic smog

Large parts of north India continue to be enveloped by a thick layer of toxic smog.

While air pollution levels have dipped marginally since touching a new high of 1200 on pollution monitors, emergency measures imposed earlier in the week will stay in place.

Permissible limits of air pollution, according to the World Health Organisation, are between 50 and 100.

G20: Biden pledges $4 billion for world's poorest countries

Kremlin responds angrily to US-Ukraine missile policy change

EU Foreign Ministers divided on Ukraine long-range missiles

Smog lockdowns have been put in place in eastern Pakistan

Authorities in Lahore, Pakistan's second largest city, have stepped up restrictions as pollution levels continue to remain very high.
