US indicts former Indian intelligence officer in foiled assassination plot case

India says Canada did not take action against criminals as dispute continues

India says that Canada did not take action against gang members that have been accused of being linked to Indian government agents in a murder of a Sikh separatist leader, despite New Delhi's requests.

Tensions between Canada and India have soured over last year's killing, with both sides this week each kicking out six diplomats.

Fight to limit abortion pill access back in play after new lawsuit filed

A new battle is brewing in the fight over access to abortion pills.  Idaho, Kansas and Missouri have filed a request seeking to restrict access to the drug, after the Supreme Court tossed out a similar case earlier this year.  It comes just ahead of the presidential election, where reproductive rights is a top issue for voters. WHO confirms first case of cholera in Lebanon

The United Nations says it has detected the first case of cholera in
Northern Lebanon, sparking fears of an outbreak amongst those
displaced by the war.
Since the start of intense fighting in Lebanon, many have fled to the

Israeli officials say they are testing the body of a slain Palestinian in Gaza, to see whether they have killed a key Hamas leader in the territory.


Yahya Sinwa, jailed by the Israelis for decades, had become the movement's most powerful figure in the months since the October 7th attacks by Hamas on Israel.

India's Foreign Minister Dr S Jaishankar has reportedly held informal talks with his Pakistani counterpart.

Jaishankar is in Islamabad for the Shanghai Cooperation Summit organisation, making it the first visit by an Indian Minister to Pakistan in nearly a decade.
