American woman shot dead by Israeli forces while protesting in the occupied West Bank

The White House has called for an investigation into the death of a 26-year-old U.S. citizen in the occupied West Bank.

Witnesses say the woman was shot by Israeli forces while taking part in a protest against settlements.

US jobs data shows labour market continuing to cool

The US added fewer jobs than expected last month, according to new data released Friday.


Nonfarm payrolls expanded by 142,000 in August, almost 20,000 below predictions - reflecting a slowing labour market


The jobs report comes at a crucial moment ahead of the Federal Reserve's next rate meeting later this month.

UN experts want peacekeepers deployed to Sudan
