The Trump and Harris campaigns have agreed that microphones will muted
during next week's presidential debate while the other candidate is
speaking.

It means neither the former president or vice president will be able
to interrupt the other.

Michel Barnier named new prime minister of France

The centre-right veteran politician Michel Barnier (PRON: Bar-nee-ey) has been named the new prime minister of France.

The 73-year-old was chosen by the President Emmanuel Macron two months after an inconclusive election resulted in a hung parliament.

Burkina Faso issues new passports without West African bloc’s logo


Burkina Faso has taken a huge step in its quest to wean itself from the West African regional bloc, ECOWAS.

21 missing after migrant shipwreck off coast of Lampedusa


At least 21 people are missing after a migrant shipwreck off the coast of the Italian island of Lampedusa.

UN Security Council calls for a ceasefire intensify
