Tim Walz centerstage on Day 3 of DNC


Kamala Harris' running mate, Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota, is set to introduce himself to American voters later today, on the third night of the Democrats' convention in Chicago.


On Tuesday night, delegates heard soaring rhetoric from Barack and Michelle Obama, who urged Americans to reject what they called Donald Trump's politics of fear, and support the new Democratic ticket in November,

Nigeria Records 117 Suspected Cholera Cases in August

About 120 suspected cases of cholera have been recorded in Nigeria this month.

 

It brings the number of suspected cases for the disease in the country to 5,951.

Search for 6 people missing after Sicily yacht sinking now in its third day


The search for 6 missing people after a luxury yacht sank off the coast of Sicily is now in its third day.

So far, divers searching the wreck on the sea floor haven't been able to reach the cabins, where it's believed some passengers were sleeping when the yacht went down.

UK GOVT UNVEILS ILLEGAL MIGRATION PLANS

The UK government says it's going to ensure a 'surge' in deportation flights of people in the UK illegally.

It's part of plans to tackle illegal migration, including 100 new intelligence officers to disrupt people smuggling gangs.

More beds will be added to immigration removal centres, as the government promises to reduce 'chaos' in the asylum system.

The opposition Conservatives say the plans won't make the required impact.

Obamas electrify DNC as they endorse Harris

Indian doctors refuse to call off strike

Protesting doctors in India have refused to call off their strike a day after the country's Supreme Court announced it is setting up a taskforce to look into the safety of healthcare professionals.

Tens of thousands of doctors have been protesting for more than a week now after a medic was raped and murdered on the premises of a hospital in the eastern Indian city of Kolkata earlier this month.

As Neha Poonia reports, doctors say more needs to be done to ensure they are safe at work.

Trump campaign hacked by Iran say U.S. intelligence agencies

EU plans to place 9% tariff on Teslas manufactured in China


The European Union is planning to place tariffs of 9 percent on Teslas brought into the bloc from China.

Brussels launched an investigation into electric vehicles manufactured in China last year.

Chinese brands such as BYD and Geely are also being targeted, with member states set to vote on final measures in the autumn.

Medic rape and murder sparks setting up of safety task force for Indian doctors

India's Supreme Court has said it is 'deeply concerned' about the safety of doctors, as tens of thousands of healthcare professionals continue to strike over the rape and murder of a medic in the eastern Indian city of Kolkata.

The court says it is setting up a national task force that will recommend measures to ensure the safety of doctors at hospitals.
