JOE BIDEN WILL NOT RUN FOR PRESIDENT
US President Joe Biden has announced he's dropping his re-election bid, endorsing his Vice-President Kamala Harris to be the new Democratic Party nominee.
The decision follows months of pressure amid concerns over the 81-year-old's health, age and fitness for office, which had fuelled calls for him to step aside from even his most loyal supporters.
Biden will remain in post during the campaign, but the historic decision means whatever happens in November's election, the 46th President of the United States will not serve a second term from January.
