Trump sentencing postponed after Supreme Court immunity ruling

Donald Trump's sentencing has been postponed following the United States Supreme Court's controversial decision to provide criminal immunity for US presidents.


He was due to appear in court in New York next Thursday having been convicted for falsifying business records, a guilty verdict Trump says he'll appeal.


But the judge has confirmed the sentencing is officially delayed until mid-September after Trump argued his conviction should be overturned amid Monday's landmark Supreme Court ruling, as Benji Hyer explains.

UN concerned about new evacuation orders in Gaza

Biden campaign raises $264 million in 2nd quarter

US president Joe Biden raised $264 million in the year's second quarter according to his reelection campaign - a sizable sum as the 81-year-old president works to dispel fears about his candidacy.


The total includes $127 million collected during June alone, when the campaign says it took in more than $33 million on the day of the debate and in its aftermath.

Hurricane Beryl strengthens to Category 5

Hurricane Beryl has strengthened to a Category 5 storm as it barrels
towards the island of Jamaica.
