Delhi's CM Arvind Kejriwal asks for extension of interim bail, citing health issues

Delhi's chief minister, who was arrested for involvement in a graft case, has asked India's Supreme Court to extend his interim bail that was granted to him earlier this month.

He says the reason for this extension was because he needed several medical tests.

Nigeria: Deposed Emir's supporters protest

Residents of Kano State, in North West Nigeria have taken to the streets to protest the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the emir of Kano.


Sanusi, a former Central Bank Governor, was dethroned in 2020 over unlawful conduct and replaced by Aminu Ado Bayero.


But on Thursday, Kano state governor Abba Yusuf signed a law to reinstate Sanusi and also repealed four other emirates, resulting in outcry by many residents.

EU officials say ICJ ruling must be respected

Fake accounts popping up on social media platform X in lead-up to US election

Fake accounts posting about the US presidential election are growing across X, formerly known as Twitter, according to new research.


A study, first published by Reuters news agency, monitoring posts on the social media platform found a high proportion of accounts praising former President Donald Trump and criticising President Joe Biden are not real.


This comes as both presidential candidates ramp up their campaign efforts with less than six months to go until Americans head to the polls.

Georgia hits back at US retaliation over controversial free speech law

Georgia's ruling party has accused the United States of pursuing a policy of "threats and blackmail" against the Eurasian nation.
