Israel defends Rafah offensive at ICJ

Israel has defended its military offensive in Rafah at the
International Court of Justice.

Friday's hearing comes a day after South Africa told the top UN court
that Israel was seeking to reduce Gaza to rubble.

According to the United Nations roughly 600,000 people have been
forced to flee Rafah since May 6th amid a deteriorating humanitarian
situation.

Vatican updates rules around "apparitions" and other supernatural phenomena


The Vatican has announced new rules over evaluating reported visions of the Virgin Mary and other supernatural phenomena.

It's the first time the Catholic Church has updated its norms since the late 1970s.

Senegalese President Visits Nigeria, Pledge Collaboration Against Insecurity in West Africa

The President of Senegal, Bassirou Faye has visited his Nigerian counterpart, Bola Tinubu in Abuja.

Tinubu is also Chairman of West Africa's regional bloc, the Economic Community of West African states, ECOWAS.

They deliberated on increased collaboration between countries in the region against insecurity and for advancement of  trade.

Man shot dead by police in northern France after attempted burning of synagogue

French police have shot dead a man armed with a knife in the northern city of Rouen after he attempted to burn down to a synagogue


Firefighters extinguished blaze before it engulfed the Jewish house of worship but there was significant damage to the building.

Opposition leaders claim censoring by India's public service broadcasters

Opposition leaders have claimed they are being censored by India's public service broadcasters in the middle of a national election.

Russia claims Ukraine launched more than 100 drones overnight targeting port and oil facilities

Man arrested in connection with deadly billboard collapse in Mumbai

The owner of a company who was responsible for installing a giant billboard which collapsed in the Indian city of Mumbai in a storm on Monday, killing 16 people, has been arrested.

The billboard was 50 metres by 70 metres and injured dozens more as it crashed on to a petrol pump.

China deploys ships to block a civilian led Philippine protest flotilla

INTRO: A large flotilla formed as part of Philippine civilian-led supply mission had to turn back from reaching a shoal in the South China Sea, while a smaller group delivered food and fuel to Filipino fishermen, despite being shadowed by Chinese vessels.

China jails Hokkaido University professor for espionage

The family of a Chinese national being held on espionage charges says a received a jail sentenced from a court in Jilin province.

New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez blames his wife for his legal woes

New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez' legal team says his wife was
largely to blame for the bribes.
Menendez is on trial in New York and is accused of conspiring and
taking lucrative bribes, including gold bars, cash and about 60
thousand dollars to purchase a convertible for his wife.
Both the Senator and his wife have been charged but in a new
development on Thursday, Menendez announced that his wife has breast
cancer.
