The Israeli military says it's taken operational control of the Palestinian side of the Rafah Crossing in southern Gaza, and says it's conducted "targeted strikes" in eastern Rafah.
This comes after Israel rejected Hamas' agreement to a ceasefire deal proposed by Egypt and Qatar saying the terms are unacceptable, with an Israeli delegation on the way to Cairo to negotiate further.
The UN has called for an agreement to be reached, warning of the humanitarian consequences of aid not being allowed through crossings into Gaza and of an Israeli assault on Rafah.

A fresh wave of rail strikes across the UK began on Tuesday, closing several train lines and stations.
Train drivers from 16 different rail companies are striking this week over an almost two year long pay dispute.
Union bosses have blamed the government of giving up on reaching a deal to resolve the row.

Toyota subsidiary Daihatsu Motors is restarting the last of its four small car factories in Japan following a safety scandal.

US lawmakers say they're "deeply concerned" after an American soldier was detained in Russia.
An army spokesperson confirmed on Monday that the man — who's unnamed — was apprehended last week in the far east of the country "on charges of criminal misconduct."
